Don't confuse this with the more expensive 'Ribote' and 'Monetti' bottlings from the same producer.
Bruno and Irma Porro established their wine estate in 1980, just east of Alba in the rolling hills of Langhe, Piedmont (Italy). Bruno Porro focuses on Dolcetto, a lower acid, early-ripening red grape. Dolcetto from the Piedmont is sometimes referred to as 'Italy's Beaujolais.' The Bruno Porro San Luigi 2007 has the heft of a Beaujolais cru bottling, but is more earthy and less fruity.
Ripe black cherry fruit. Soft in the mouth. Some mid-palate and finishing tannins lend structure to this soft flavored wine.
I think a cold beef salad would be quite lovely with this wine, which was a good deal at Trader Joe's at $9.99 per bottle.
Handsome label, too.
Um...like the style of your writing.*_*

I started it the night before, liked it well enough to want to finish it, but didn't get so hooked that I needed to stay up late to read the whole thing. It was when I picked it up the next morning that I ran into trouble -- that was when I hit the 100-page mark, and suddenly a book about a girl who's desperate for her father's love and approval yet very cautious about guys partly because of her father's past behavior turned into a sisterly-bonding-through-burglary-with-exploration-into-family-history-and-romantic-roadtrip story. **-**-*
