Tin Pan Alley and friends are preparing for the February 28th
Ukiah premier of “Are We Almost There?” This seventh mainstage production of
the current Ukiah Players Theatre season is an original musical comedy revue
about the frustrations, anxieties and occasional joys of travel. This
fast-paced show is full of songs and sketches about subjects like the hazards
of traveling with friends, panic packing, eating in the car, lousy timing,
disaster site voyeurs, our love affairs with our vehicles, group tours,
annoying car alarms, the adventure of taking public transportation, cathedral
overload and other matters from SUVs to B&Bs.
The cast of actors/singers/musicians includes David Cory Anderson, Laura Bartlett, Nathan Bell, KC Dill, Christine Hance, David Hance, Ben Stough and David Strock. David Hance is directing the show, while David Cory Anderson is musical director. Linda Sauer is the stage manager and prop-master. “Are We Almost There?” with music, lyrics and book by Morris Bobrow, ran for three straight years in San Francisco, making it one of the city's longest running original shows.
Mark your calendars now: There are only six opportunities to enjoy this fast and lively musical revue. Evening performances are scheduled for February 28 and 29, and March 6, 7, and 8.
